My German Language Education

Duolingo

Duolingo is a program designed to help their users learn a second language without having to pay an insane amount. It is a free program that can help millions of people achieve the goal of learning languages that differ from their native tongue.

This is a great program that has helped me learn much about German. While I still have difficulty hearing words pronounced, I can understand some basic words that are written down. The most difficult part of translating the words from German to English, or vice versa, is the genders associated with the words. A simple word, such as "A" or "The" can differ depending on which gender you mention.

I truly had a lot of fun using Duolingo, because some of the sentences it comes up with can be taken out of context. In addition, I can curse in German, and nobody can write me up, because they don't know what it means! Great idea to learn German!

In conclusion, I recommend Duolingo to anyone who wants to learn German, or any other language! I will continue to use it in the following semester and throughout the summer, when I have time and I feel like having a German lesson.
